The road of Freedom is the convergence of all the paths trod by the footsteps of man. It is the highway where all roads lead to forn the substanance of Western Civilization. Human history is a one-way street lined with the checkpoints or signpots of major important events leading to the founding of America 234 years ago in our own battle against tyranny. On the road of Freedom there are many signposts of historic stands against tyranny. Tyranny like Freedom, is immortal and their war is eternal. Lady Freedom wears the scars of these battle on a crown upon her brow. Tyranny wears many masks, these include the good sheppard, the prophet, the king and the chief executive, all to decieve men into fighting against freedom.
The road of Freedom includes battles of the sword and the gun but its greatest battles are fought with the might of the pen. From Roman laws to the signing of the Magna Carta, Thomas Jeffersons revolutinary words of the Declaration of Independance, the Gettysburg Address and the signing of the Civil Rights bill. There are so many more examples of the courage and personal sacrifice of people who opposed tyranny. Written word is harder to surpress and kill with the force of oppression, people may be slain but the written word carries on their fight long after people return to dust. The human race is a creature of war but also a mind to build great cities and reshape our own destiny.
Of the scars on Freedoms crown, one shines so bright to honor the courage and sacrifice of the 300 at Thermopylae, where a few men of extreme courage stood boldly firm against a army of tyranny of a million slaves, In a fight to the last man, warriors of Freedom died with their shields but Freedom did not die though her soldiers bodies were filled with thousands of arrows which may may blocked out the sun but never their glory. In honor of this sacrifice Lady Freedom took up their shields an at a placed called Plataiai, met her enemy again. She did not stand alone, at her side were 10,000 countrymen of the 300, these warriors so enrage by the deaths of the 300 crushed the army of tyranny.
In this eternal war battles are won and sometimes lost despite heroic sacrifice and courage. Great events of such courage and sacrifice mark the signposts of history, each with its own important place with its struggle against tyranny. Of the places and men inshirned in the halls of glory, a few standout and shoutout their right to be forever remembered. Freedom was at the Alamo, at Gettysburg, Roakes Drift, Pearl Harbor and also at the Twin Towers. All these scars and so many more not listed, Lady Freedom wears proudly upon her crown. One of the brighest, for America and the world, a signpost marks the place and the courage of free men to oppose a tyrant king, this place of glory on the road of Freedom is "Valley Forge".
